Carlton County COVID-19 update 3/30/20
Health Recommendations:
Carlton County is continuing to follow the recommendations from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in best practice for all guidance related to COVID-19.
For anyone in the community interested in helping make facemasks, in the time of a shortage, the MDH has offered this document as Interim Guidance on Alternative Facemasks. Please see the design principles and examples specifically. CDC is not recommending the uses of facemasks by the general public at this time, unless you are sick. Check with your local healthcare providers (hospitals, clinics, long term care facilities, etc.) about whether they are accepting, or need donations at this time.
One of the highest priority populations for MDH, right now, is Congregate Living Facilities. MDH is in regular contact with these facilities and has provided Interim Guidance for Administrators here.
As things progress with COVID-19 prevention efforts, you or your loved ones may be experiencing increased stress and anxiety. Consider the tips provided here, support to your mental well-being during these uncertain times. It is important to be gentle with yourself and others, and to take steps to support both your own and your family’s mental well-being.
