The
Sheriff's Office 9-1-1 center is
the County's Public Safety
Answering Point (PSAP). In
addition to answering 9-1-1
calls and dispatching
appropriate responses, the
Dispatch center works with rural
addressing issues and enters all
of the Carlton County warrants.
The
Dispatch center employs a staff
of 7 full-time emergency telecommunicators.
This staff provides services for
14 fire departments, 10 first
responder units, 4 ambulance
services and 5 different law
enforcement agencies. The
entire staff is dedicated to
providing system users and the
public with the best public
safety response available to
them. At this time we are
working to add Emergency Medical
Dispatch to the services provided.
Dispatch center staff is
involved in several community
activities, including area
career fairs. The
Sheriff's Office also offers a
9-1-1 program for all Carlton
County first graders which is
presented by Dispatch staff.
Dispatchers have many training
opportunities throughout the
year, thus assuring that the
latest public safety information
is available to staff, users and
the public.
