Our van travels only on "ODD"
dates of the month (i.e. 1st,
3rd, 15th, 21st, etc.) and only
from Monday thru Thursday. If
there is not a veteran scheduled
from Carlton County for the van
trip, our van does not travel on
that day.
Scheduled hospital appointments
should be no earlier that 0915
and no later than 1330. We
understand that not all clinics
within the VAMC schedule
appointments prior to 1300, so
there is an exception to this
rule!
The van is not equipped nor are
the drivers trained or qualified
to handle medical emergencies.
We will not transport anyone
with life threatening
emergencies. You should call the
local ambulance service when
dealing with emergencies.
Some veterans require assistance
in traveling, and we are happy
to provide transportation for
family members or attendants of
veterans who need assistance.
Those arrangements can be made
by calling our office. Veterans
will have priority over family
members if the van is full.

The van will not make a trip if
road conditions in the opinion
of the driver do not allow
absolute safe travel. In case
the road conditions are such
that a trip cannot safely be
made, transportation for that
day will be cancelled. The
Carlton County Veterans Service
Office will not reschedule your
appointment if a trip is
canceled. Please contact
the VAMC to have your
appointment rescheduled.
